The ASC Assessor Training program is aimed at people who will be assessing coaches and officials within their sport.
The Australian Sports Commission’s (ASC’s) Assessor Training program provides a standard of training of assessors. The essential components of the program include how to plan and organise an assessment and assessing the competence of a coach or official.
Skilled assessors are a critical component of a quality coach and official development system. Good assessors create a supportive environment that encourages learning through the assessment process. Assessors provide a valuable role within the National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) and National Officiating Accreditation Scheme (NOAS) as part of competency-based training.

The program is designed to assist assessors improve their skills in
- planning the assessment process,
- gathering evidence for assessment,
- providing feedback,
- developing assessment tools
- reviewing and validating assessment.
Participants who complete the training program will be issued with an
Australian Sports Commission Assessor Certificate
